Privacy policy
This policy explains how Nearby Beach handles information when you use https://www.nearbybeach.com. It is written in plain language. It is not legal advice, and it does not claim that any particular analytics setup automatically meets every privacy regulation on its own.
What this site does not use
This website does not use:
- Google Analytics
- Meta Pixel or advertising trackers
- marketing pixels or remarketing tags
- Hotjar, FullStory, or similar session-recording tools
- browser fingerprinting for advertising
- unnecessary marketing cookies
Information you choose to send
If you email us, we receive the details you provide, typically your name, email address, and message. We use that information only to respond to your enquiry and to manage related project conversations.

Analytics (GoatCounter)
In production, this site may use GoatCounter as its only analytics service. GoatCounter is a privacy-focused analytics tool. According to GoatCounter’s documentation for its standard setup:
- it does not use cookies for standard visitor analytics
- it does not use localStorage for that standard setup
- it does not store IP addresses or full User-Agent strings in its database in the standard configuration
Analytics helps us understand aggregate traffic (for example, which pages are visited and roughly when). It is loaded asynchronously and is configured so it does not run in local development when the GoatCounter environment variables are unset.
Using GoatCounter does not mean this website never processes any personal data in every possible sense. Server logs from hosting, email correspondence, and similar operational systems can still involve personal data.
Cookies
The standard GoatCounter integration used here is not intended to set analytics cookies. We do not show a cookie consent banner solely for GoatCounter’s standard cookie-free analytics. If we later add services that require consent cookies, we will update this policy and the site behaviour accordingly.
Your browser may still store technical data needed for security, networking, or basic site function outside our control (for example, TLS state).
Hosting and technical logs
This site is hosted on a static hosting / CDN platform (for example Vercel). Hosting providers typically process technical request data such as IP addresses, timestamps, and request paths in server logs for security, reliability, and abuse prevention. Retention of those logs is governed by the host’s policies.
Third-party services
Beyond hosting and optional GoatCounter analytics, we aim to keep third-party requests minimal. Fonts and assets are self-hosted. We do not load Google Fonts, advertising CDNs, or tag managers on this site.
Data retention
Email and project correspondence are kept as long as needed for the conversation and ordinary business records. Analytics aggregates are retained according to GoatCounter’s settings and practices. You can ask us what we hold about you in our direct communications.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to object to certain processing. To make a request related to information you have sent us, contacthello@nearbybeach.com.
Children
This website is intended for adults and professional enquiries. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy when our practices or services change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
